Professional Grade Compost
Comand® compost promotes soil health by enhancing mineral and nutrient uptake, reducing water usage, and providing your lawn with the beneficial biology it desperately needs.
How Do I Use Comand® Compost?
Top Dressing
Broadcast Comand® evenly at a maximum depth of ¼” of material. Water immediately after application.
Spot Treatment
For bare spots and weak turf areas, use a tine fork or a spiking tool to poke holes and aerate the soil. Broadcast Comand® and work into the holes and cover the soil surface. Water thoroughly after application.
Turf Establishment
Prior to laying down new sod, broadcast Comand® over the entire area at an average depth of ½” and use a rake to incorporate the compost into the surface of the soil. Be sure to thoroughly water the area once you have finished seeding, sodding, or planting.
How Much Should I Use?
Application
*CY = cubic yard
Use any time of the year in any type of soil. Recommended for use in the spring and the fall. Combine top dressing with aeration. Screened to a very fine consistency, which makes it suitable for applying to even the most closely mown turf.

STA Certified Compost
Quality is in the eye of the consumer: Compost use and selection decisions consider many factors, and therefore are not one-size-fits-all. The Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program helps you make the best decision for your application by providing the 3 C’s:
Clarity –
Similar to a nutrition label, the STA Program’s Compost Technical Data Sheet (CTDS) includes test results, a list of ingredients, and recommended directions for use.
Consistency –
The STA Program provides checks and balances within the STA Lab and Participant network to ensure proficiency and consistency with testing procedures and compliance, providing apples to apples comparisons of compost properties.
Confidence –
Similar to trusting a vehicle history report when purchasing a vehicle, the STA’s CTDS report provides consumers with confidence and knowledge of what is in the compost and how it was produced.
Disease Suppression
Comand® compost helps restore soil health by encouraging the growth of thicker grass, which provides a healthier turf.
If you have a necrotic ring spot, Comand® is an effective treatment to eliminate this lawn disease, which is common in Colorado.
Comand® has been tested and supported by the department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University.
Commercial Landscape Maintenance
Enhance the look of your commercial landscape with Comand® compost. Regular turf maintenance should include this add-on both during your spring and fall lawn care.
