Sphagnum Peat Moss
- Sustainably sourced, pH balancing, peat increases water retention, improves soil structure, retards root borne diseases and helps balance high PH conditions common in Colorado.
Scoria Lava Rock
- Highly sustainable and locally sourced. Medium aggregate properties, light weight. Scoria lava rock is a beautiful red rock, locally mined in Colorado. Scoria adds another layer of structure and aeration yet is much more durable than pumice or per-lite. Scoria is durability is key to getting many years of use from our soil blend. In addition this red rock adds a beautiful color to our soils and is pleasing to touch. Scoria is shown to support foundational microbes necessary for long term nutrient bio-availability.
STA Certified Compost
Quality is in the eye of the consumer: Compost use and selection decisions consider many factors, and therefore are not one-size-fits-all. The Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program helps you make the best decision for your application by providing the 3 C’s:
Clarity –
Similar to a nutrition label, the STA Program’s Compost Technical Data Sheet (CTDS) includes test results, a list of ingredients, and recommended directions for use.
Consistency –
The STA Program provides checks and balances within the STA Lab and Participant network to ensure proficiency and consistency with testing procedures and compliance, providing apples to apples comparisons of compost properties.
Confidence –
Similar to trusting a vehicle history report when purchasing a vehicle, the STA’s CTDS report provides consumers with confidence and knowledge of what is in the compost and how it was produced.
OMRI® Listed – What is it?
OMRI’s External Review Panels consist of individuals selected by the Board of Directors to provide expertise in the review of commercial products used in organic crop, livestock and processing operations. OMRI also maintains an Internal Review Panel of qualified staff members that make final status decisions under specific circumstances. All Review Panels make final decisions for newly applying products and selected products that undergo re-review. The Review Panels also consider certain decision rebuttals and appeals as outlined in the OMRI Policy Manual©.
